An Airy Showroom Where Technical Precision Enables Hands-On Interaction and Product Understanding

Velfac and Krone’s new showroom in Rødovre is designed as an open and airy environment that invites direct interaction with the products. Ambiente realised the showroom through close technical collaboration, translating an innovative design concept into a durable and functional solution. The result is a hands-on showroom where architecture, engineering and product experience work seamlessly together.

An Open Showroom Designed for Natural Interaction
The showroom is structured around light, minimal frames that allow windows to be experienced at eye level. Rather than presenting products as static objects, the design encourages visitors to open, close and engage with the windows in a natural and intuitive way. Clear sightlines and 360-degree visibility guide visitors through the space, creating a fluid movement pattern that supports dialogue and exploration. The open structure makes it easy to understand how the products function in practice, turning the showroom into an active environment rather than a traditional exhibition.

Engineering and Product Maturation Behind the Light Expression
Although the showroom appears visually simple and lightweight, the technical requirements were extensive. Repeated hands-on interaction with full-scale windows places high demands on durability, stability and precision. To meet these demands, Ambiente carried out thorough product maturation and engineering in close collaboration with Velfac and Krone Vinduer. Frames, fixings and moving parts were carefully developed and tested to ensure long-term performance without compromising the clean architectural expression defined by design agency Manyone. The result is a solution where robustness and refinement coexist seamlessly.

A Complete and Coherent Product Experience
Ambiente’s role was to translate Manyone’s design vision into a buildable and reliable showroom environment that supports daily use. Every detail was resolved with care, from construction tolerances to mounting solutions, ensuring consistency across the space. In adjoining rooms, complementary products such as fittings, handles and locking systems are presented in dedicated display areas, adding depth to the overall experience. Together, these zones form a coherent showroom that functions as both a sales tool and a working space for consultation — a calm, professional setting where design, engineering and product understanding come together.

Throughout the process, Ambiente has been very responsive to our wishes and dreams and immediately understood where we wanted to end up. They had to think creatively, and they found many exciting and alternative solutions, which meant that design, quality and economy all came together.”
