A Tactile Display Concept Bringing Acoustic Materials to Life Through Space and Materiality Experience
Troldtekt needed a clear and intuitive way to present its acoustic solutions in DIY and home-improvement environments. Ambiente developed a robust display system that highlights materiality, structure and architectural expression through large-scale panels and tactile samples. The result is an engaging presentation that makes acoustic performance visible, tangible and easy to understand.

Presenting Materiality in a Clear, Architectural Format
The ambition behind the display system was to make Troldtekt’s acoustic panels understandable at a glance. Instead of relying on small samples, the panels are presented in large formats that reflect real architectural applications. This allows customers to experience surface texture, rhythm and structure as they would appear on walls or ceilings. The calm, ordered presentation creates a strong visual contrast to the often dense and busy environment of DIY and home-improvement stores, helping Troldtekt stand out with clarity and confidence.
A Robust and Flexible System Designed for Everyday Use
The display structure is produced in black-lacquered steel, forming a neutral and durable framework that places full focus on the panels themselves. All elements are engineered for high traffic and frequent handling, ensuring long-term performance in demanding retail environments. The system is designed with flexibility in mind: panels can be replaced or updated as the assortment evolves, allowing the display to remain relevant over time and supporting ongoing product storytelling without the need for complete replacement.
Engaging the Senses Through Touch and Detail
To support hands-on understanding, the display includes a dedicated shelf with enlarged texture samples that highlight Troldtekt’s raw wood-fibre composition. Smaller material samples make it possible for customers to touch and feel the product, bridging the gap between technical performance and sensory experience. This tactile layer helps both professionals and DIY customers assess the panels’ aesthetic and functional qualities with confidence. The completed display system combines architectural clarity, robustness and sensory engagement in one cohesive solution. By presenting acoustic materials in a format that mirrors real use, the concept makes complex products accessible, intuitive and visually compelling — a clear expression of Troldtekt’s design-driven identity.
