A Tribute to Three Icons of Danish Modernism
Fritz Hansen set out to mark the 60th anniversary of the Egg, the Swan and the Drop — three iconic chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The ambition was to create a compact travelling exhibition that could communicate the legacy, precision and timeless relevance of the designs within a limited footprint. Ambiente developed and produced a 17.5 m² exhibition concept where each chair is presented with clarity and respect, allowing form, proportion and material quality to stand forward. The exhibition is composed as a calm, sculptural framework that honours Danish modernism while remaining contemporary in its expression.

Engineered for Travel, Repetition and International Use
The exhibition was developed with mobility and durability as key parameters. Ambiente handled full product maturation, technical detailing and production, ensuring that every component could withstand repeated transport, assembly and disassembly across international destinations. Materials, finishes and constructions were selected to maintain a refined appearance under changing conditions and frequent handling. The system is efficient to pack, quick to assemble and robust in use, allowing the exhibition to travel seamlessly between cities without compromising quality or alignment. This technical precision ensures that the architectural integrity of the installation remains consistent wherever it is shown.

A Compact Exhibition With Global Reach
The travelling exhibition has been presented in selected locations across Europe and the United States, functioning as both a narrative platform and a physical encounter with three of Fritz Hansen’s most celebrated designs. Lighting, proportions and spatial composition are carefully calibrated to highlight the sculptural qualities of each chair — curves, stitching and material transitions are revealed without visual noise. The result is an exhibition experience that feels intimate yet authoritative, educational yet atmospheric. Through a restrained architectural language and precise execution, the exhibition brings six decades of design heritage to life in a format that is flexible, durable and unmistakably refined.
