A cohesive automotive universe shaped by materiality, spatial clarity and refined detailing

Nellemann Leasing set out to create new surroundings that reflect both the exclusivity of the vehicles and the high level of service. Ambiente developed and realised a cohesive automotive universe where showroom, offices, workshop and event facilities are seamlessly connected. The result is a refined environment where materials, spatial planning and detailing support premium experiences and long-term relationships.

Transforming an Industrial Building Into a Premium Automotive Environment
The project is located in an existing industrial building in Taastrup, transformed into a 2,000 m² automotive universe spread across two levels. Aston Martin Copenhagen occupies the first floor, while Nellemann Leasing is located on the ground floor, unified within one coherent spatial concept. Ambiente was involved early in the development of the floor plan to ensure optimal use of space and a clear flow between arrival, presentation, consultation and delivery. As part of the transformation, a first floor and an exterior porch were added, along with office facilities and additional bathrooms for employees and guests. Every square metre was carefully planned to balance functionality, exclusivity and experience.

Bespoke Elements and Flexible Presentation Solutions
To support the refined expression of the building, Ambiente produced a series of custom elements that define the interior. These include panels in dark-stained oak veneer, a sculptural art polygon in perforated steel, an illuminated exterior façade also in perforated steel, and a large merchandise wall in the Aston Martin lounge on the first floor. In the showrooms, flexible lighting rails were installed, allowing spotlights to be repositioned depending on the vehicles on display. This ensures a dynamic presentation while maintaining a calm and controlled atmosphere throughout the space.

A Sophisticated Material Palette With Warm Detailing
The interior is characterised by a restrained yet luxurious material palette. Steel elements are finished in brown tones rather than traditional black, creating a warmer and more inviting atmosphere. Smoked glass softens reflections and adds depth, while natural materials such as stone and wood reinforce the minimalist aesthetic. The overall expression draws subtle references to the classic “gentleman’s room”, with clean lines, generous surfaces and materials that convey quality and craftsmanship. The style is understated, practical and consistently exclusive.

An Environment Designed for Dialogue and Business
Beyond functioning as a showroom, the building is designed as a setting for dialogue, events and long-term customer relationships. The combination of showroom areas, offices, workshop facilities and a first-class event and conference space supports both daily operations and special occasions. The customer journey is carefully considered from first arrival to final handover, while employees benefit from clear zoning and well-organised workspaces. The project demonstrates how thoughtful spatial planning, material choices and bespoke solutions can elevate both brand experience and business flow within a premium automotive environment.
