The Cold War bunker Regan Vest’s welcome and exhibition building invites visitors to experience a hidden piece of Danish history. Here, the museum experience combines entertainment, information and learning as visitors are guided through seven zones that showcase the Cold War era — designed by Kumulus Agency.

From the first step into the museum’s exhibition, visitors are surrounded by specially developed elements, where the level of detail and design support the museum’s unique narrative. Illustrated in a complex model with a steel core, covered in MDF and 3D-printed, the bunker’s intricate corridor system hovers in the middle of the room. Here, nothing is left to chance, and every millimetre is carefully customised to ensure the realisation of this technical masterpiece.

The museum’s many complex installations range from an atomic bomb replica with a simulated detonation, interactive control rooms, and a reconstruction of secret emergency procedures, to the decoration of unique nuclear warheads and scenographic recreations of a family home.

The impactful exhibition, which began as an empty room and was realised through complex, custom-built elements, room construction and hundreds of technical drawings, now offers a sensory insight into the Cold War era — a time when the bunker lay hidden beneath Rold Forest.
