A Headquarters Shaped Through Insight and Clear Ambitions
The project was driven by a clear ambition to create more than a traditional office environment. Obton wanted a headquarters that could support daily work while acting as a strong representation of the company’s identity and position. To achieve this, Ambiente initiated a thorough user involvement process, conducting in-depth interviews across employee groups to understand needs, workflows and expectations. This insight formed the foundation for a solution that balances functionality with atmosphere. By involving employees early in the process, the headquarters was shaped to support real working patterns, encourage ownership and create a strong sense of belonging. The result is an environment that feels intuitive, welcoming and aligned with the way the organisation operates.

Activity-Based Design With Cohesion Across 6,000 m²
The interior is organised around an activity-based design principle, where different zones support different ways of working and interacting. Open work areas, quiet focus zones, meeting rooms, informal collaboration spaces and social hubs create flexibility throughout the day. The arrival area establishes a clear and inviting first impression, while the employee restaurant functions as a warm social anchor. Consistent colour and material choices, carefully selected furniture and considered wall treatments tie the building together across floors. Combined with good acoustics, café and lounge areas and functional co-working zones, this creates a natural flow throughout the headquarters — supported by views of the water and harbour life.

A Landmark Workplace Built for People and Performance
The headquarters in Nikolinehus stands as a strong example of how a user-centred design process can create long-term value. The space supports everyday efficiency while strengthening company culture and providing a professional setting for meetings with clients and partners. Ambiente is proud to have contributed to a headquarters that functions as both a workplace and a strategic asset — demonstrating how thoughtful spatial planning, material choices and employee involvement can support growth, attract talent and reinforce a company’s identity over time.
