Transforming an Existing Headquarters Into a Warm, Flexible and Brand-Driven Workspace

Gabba partnered with Ambiente to transform their existing headquarters into a more flexible and atmospheric workplace. By rethinking how the existing building could be used, unused potential within the headquarters was activated. The result is an inviting environment where work, collaboration and brand expression come together.

Unlocking Existing Potential Through Transformation
Gabba partnered with Ambiente to transform the company’s existing headquarters in Kolding by making better use of the space already available. The original ambition was to expand, but through close dialogue, analysis and understanding of Gabba’s vision, needs and values, it became clear that the greatest potential lay within the existing building. Rather than extending, the decision was made to renovate and transform the current headquarters to meet future needs. This approach allowed unused square metres to be activated while avoiding unnecessary construction, following the principle that the most sustainable square metres are the ones that never get built.

Reclaimed Space as the Heart of the Headquarters
As part of the transformation, former warehouse areas were reclaimed and converted into administration spaces, new common areas and updated showroom facilities. These shared zones now function as hybrid spaces with multiple purposes and have become the natural heart of the headquarters. They support everything from informal coffee conversations and collaborative meetings to creative sessions and social moments, including a game of table tennis after lunch. The layout makes it easy to move between focus, teamwork and relaxation, supporting Gabba’s everyday working culture and sense of community.

Materials, Colours and Atmosphere Rooted in the Brand
The interior combines raw and warm materials to reflect Gabba’s identity and visual universe. Concrete floors and walls form a robust foundation, balanced by wood, steel and painted surfaces that add warmth and character. A denim-blue colour runs consistently throughout the building as a visual thread, tying the spaces together and reinforcing the brand’s expression. Tall trees and plants introduce natural elements into the converted warehouse areas, softening the industrial feel and creating a welcoming and lived-in atmosphere.

A Showroom That Reflects the Gabba Spirit
The updated showroom plays a central role in the transformed headquarters, offering variety in shapes, materials and playful details. It allows Gabba’s collections to be presented in an environment that feels authentic and engaging for both employees and visitors. By transforming rather than expanding, the project supports long-term flexibility and sustainability while strengthening Gabba’s identity. The result is a headquarters that makes full use of its existing potential and clearly communicates what Gabba stands for through space, materials and everyday use.
