A Crafted Headquarters Where Robust Materials and Scandinavian Clarity Shape a Workplace
Bytømreren needed a new headquarters that reflected who they are: skilled craftsmen with a strong professional identity. Ambiente created a workplace that balances durability with a Scandinavian office expression. The result is an environment where robust surfaces, crafted elements and functional zoning support daily workflow and company culture.

A Headquarters Built on Craft and Materials
The design concept for Bytømreren’s headquarters is rooted directly in the company’s trade, where craftsmanship and functionality go hand in hand. Honest materials, solid construction and visible details reflect pride in the craft and create a professional yet welcoming setting. Ambiente developed a layout that connects office functions, meeting rooms and shared work areas into a clear and well-organised flow, supporting both focused work and collaboration. Raw timber surfaces and exposed details anchor the interior in Bytømreren’s identity, while muted colours and clean lines contribute to a calm and light Scandinavian atmosphere. Materials play a defining role throughout the interior. Warm wood, steel details, textured surfaces and durable flooring are combined to withstand daily use while maintaining a consistent and welcoming expression. The choice of materials reflects Scandinavian design traditions, where practicality, longevity and aesthetics are closely connected. This balance ensures that the headquarters feels robust and functional, yet comfortable and inviting for everyday work.
Bespoke Furniture and Functional Zones
Ambiente designed and produced a range of bespoke furniture solutions tailored to the needs of a working carpentry business. Custom workstations, meeting tables and storage elements support practical workflows and help keep the workplace organised and efficient. Specially designed elements, including a striking counter made from solid wood planks and café tables in powder-coated steel, add character and reinforce the craftsmanship that defines the company. The headquarters also includes breakout areas, lounge furniture and high desks that function as informal meeting zones. These spaces allow for flexibility in the working day, supporting both individual tasks and teamwork. The combination of dedicated workspaces and shared zones creates a dynamic environment where employees can choose the setting that best suits their needs.
Everyday Work, Comfort and Identity
The interior is designed for real working conditions, with a strong focus on comfort, acoustics and durability. Acoustic solutions help ensure peace and concentration in office areas, while hard-wearing materials keep the spaces functional over time. Breakout areas and informal meeting zones encourage conversation and social interaction, strengthening team culture and everyday collaboration. The completed headquarters is a professional, light and welcoming environment that reflects Bytømreren’s identity and way of working. By combining craftsmanship, practical solutions and a Scandinavian expression, the headquarters supports daily work while creating an inspiring and comfortable workplace for employees and visitors alike.
