A Modular Exhibition Concept Where Light and Structure Create Long-Term Flexibility
For Light + Building 2024, Nordlux needed an exhibition concept that could evolve across fairs, formats and future collections. Ambiente designed, built and installed a modular stand shaped by structure and Scandinavian clarity. The result is a long-term stand where light becomes the focal point, framed by a flexible system.

A Modular Stand Concept Designed for Growth and Reuse
At the core of the concept is a modular grid system built from cubes and wall elements that can expand, reduce or reconfigure to match any footprint. This backbone allows Nordlux to reinterpret the stand for spaces ranging from intimate 20 m² layouts to expansive 200 m² installations, while maintaining a consistent expression. The grid walls shift between mesh, semi-open frames and closed surfaces, enabling concealed wiring and supporting different styles of product presentation. Meeting rooms, back-wall cubes and presentation zones can be positioned freely for each fair, creating a scalable and cost-efficient long-term solution.
When Darkness Helps Light Take Centre Stage
The palette is defined by deep and muted tones, allowing each luminaire to stand forward with clarity. Against the dark backdrop, shapes, materials and colours are clearly highlighted, supporting both atmospheric presentation and technical demonstration. Some areas feel more intimate, while others emphasise functional features. The composition remains open and easy to navigate, maintaining a Scandinavian character.
Craft and Technical Know-How
Ambiente produced all components to withstand repeated assembly and disassembly. Concealed fixings, robust joints and precise material tolerances ensure the system remains consistent across multiple installations. Integrated lighting rails allow Nordlux’s team to reposition products quickly when adapting to different collections or audiences. Surfaces and materials were selected for durability and minimal wear, ensuring the stand maintains its appearance across repeated use.
A Long-Term Exhibition Strategy Built on Modularity
Beyond the initial build, Ambiente manages the system between fairs and selects the right combination of cubes, grid walls and meeting elements for each setup. This continuity ensures recognisability while offering flexibility to scale and adapt the stand over time. The finished stand delivers a strong presence where lighting and structure work together, supporting Nordlux’s collections and communicating the brand clearly.
