On the Color Line route between Strömstad and Sandefjord, Carlsberg Group has established a distinctive presence within the on-board tax-free shop. The store different from traditional stores – as the ship is constantly in motion, hundreds of passengers pass through the area every day, and space is limited. At the same time, every element must comply with strict maritime safety and fire regulations. It required careful consideration in terms of design, construction and choice of materials.

Designed for movement, safety and flow
The retail area has been developed to merge visibility, functionality and durability into one cohesive concept. The fixtures are designed with consideration for the ship’s movement, vibrations and wear, while at the same time reflecting Carlsberg’s visual identity in a dynamic, high-traffic environment. The layout optimizes the sales space, creates clear zones and ensures a natural flow, allowing both staff and passengers to move freely even during busy periods. The space is designed so that Carlsberg meets travelers with clarity and calm in the midst of motion.
