A Warm, Personal and Scalable Interior Concept Designed for 58 Spar Nord Branches Nationwide

Spar Nord set out to redesign 58 branches to support its ambition of being a personal bank with personal guidance. Ambiente developed an interior concept that balances professionalism with warmth and approachability. The result is a flexible and timeless design framework that can be applied consistently across the bank’s nationwide branch network.

A Personal Banking Concept Built on Insight and Collaboration
The interior concept for Spar Nord was developed through thorough analysis and close collaboration between Ambiente, Spar Nord’s project group and consultancy Wenew. The ambition was clear: to create branch environments that feel welcoming and personal while maintaining a high level of professionalism. The design greets customers with calm, recognisable surroundings that support trust and dialogue from the moment they enter. Material choices, colours and spatial layout work together to create a sense of comfort without compromising the bank’s credibility or clarity.

A Flexible Design System for 58 Branches Nationwide
With 58 branches to be redesigned, flexibility and scalability were essential. The concept was therefore developed as a design system that can be adapted to different branch sizes and layouts while maintaining a unified identity. Furniture, zoning and spatial principles were defined to ensure consistency across locations, allowing each branch to feel familiar regardless of geography. At the same time, the solution allows for local adjustments, ensuring that the design works equally well in large city branches and smaller regional locations.

Timeless Interiors Supporting Personal Guidance
The finished concept supports Spar Nord’s strategy by creating surroundings that encourage personal conversations and long-term relationships. Consultation areas, meeting rooms and customer zones are designed to feel approachable and calm, making space for meaningful dialogue between advisors and customers. The interior is timeless in its expression, ensuring that it remains relevant for years to come while supporting ongoing updates and refurbishments. Across Denmark, the new branch concept strengthens brand recognition and delivers a consistent, welcoming customer experience rooted in Spar Nord’s values.
