One building, multiple functions

Client
Eva Solo

Project
Headquarters Måløv, Denmark

Functionality is in Eva Solo’s DNA, which is why you will find that many of their products have more than one function — and this was a recurring theme when Ambiente was commissioned to design and implement Eva Solo’s new head office.

The headquarters would not only serve as an office for the company’s employees; it would also house an exciting and flexible showroom, space for various events and a vibrant everyday life — all with Eva Solo’s universe as a recurring theme. To support this theme, several of Eva Solo’s well-known hardware products were highlighted as art elements in the canteen and office spaces. It’s both simple and personal.

In the design process, coherence was also a keyword, as the new building had to be connected to the existing one, giving employees a positive impression of their new and beautiful surroundings.

When working on the design concept for the new head office, aesthetics and functionality were key — just like in their products. This meant that we took extra care with many details, such as the reception desk, the asymmetrical lines in the showroom and the large lamp installation in the entrance area. The showroom is flexible, with movable walls, curtains and podiums, so it can easily be transformed into new setups and product groups.

Spotlight on materials and practical solutions
It was particularly important to create spaces that showcased Eva Solo products and materials. This was achieved by using clean lines, bright colours and a light and inviting environment. Cool grey flooring highlights wood as a material, while curtains, rugs and upholstered furniture create a soft and warm element that instils a homely feel.

In the building’s office space, organic shapes, elegant partitions and green plants were essential in creating a comfortable working environment. Meeting facilities were furnished with a combination of Eva Solo’s own furniture and our custom-designed furniture. In addition, the focus was on creating a welcoming and warm atmosphere without compromising on practicality. The décor throughout the building also encourages conversation and socialising with colleagues and house guests through small breakouts with an informal feel.
