In the summer of 2023, Obton opened the doors to their new headquarters in the Nikolinehus building on Aarhus Ø. The company almost tripled their total office space to 6,000 square meters in the architect-designed building with views of both water and harbor life.
Ambiente has been involved in the project from an early process, conducting user group interviews to decode employee needs and ensure involvement in the process. The goal was to create an atmospheric and welcoming headquarters where both guests and employees feel welcome and comfortable.
The design is rooted in an activity-based layout, where different types of functions and facilities create the framework for a vibrant office space where there is room for individual work as well as teamwork, social events, professional events and much more.
The creative thoughts in the interior design stem from the extensive preliminary work, where needs, functions, wishes, etc. are uncovered and then tied together into an integrated interior design concept. The focus is on the wow factor in the arrival area, warmth in the restaurant for employees and coziness in the meeting rooms. Together with good acoustics, cozy café and lounge areas and functional co-working zones, a good flow is created throughout the building.
The consistent color and material choices, spectacular and iconic furniture, elegant effects on walls, etc. support the overall theme across floors and functions.
