Silkeborg's old paper factory is home to the outdoor brand Nordisk Company, and in connection with the move to the new premises, Ambiente was commissioned to renovate the interior of the building and transform it into an oasis of Nordic nature. In the center of the domicile, you will therefore experience a small piece of forest surrounded by a specially designed bridge, inspired by Sweco's Østre-Vestre lake baths. Walking up the stairs, you are almost enveloped by the crowns of the trees to the extent that you feel as if you are in a Nordic forest - a unique element in the interior design.
With “Outdoor Camp” as the focal point, we not only devised a functional head office design where flexible workstations dominate, but also an expression where nature is in focus and Nordisk Company's outdoor products are included in the design. With the camp-inspired theme, the head office has been naturally divided into “Welcome site”, “Gazebo”, and “Playground”. The canteen has been renamed “Campfire”, where a stretched tarp decorated with string lights creates an ambient atmosphere at the lunch table. The office restrooms challenge the classic and are instead a showstopper in the interior design, taking the feeling of the forest interior to new heights. The birch tree wallpaper and raw wooden beam worktop, together with decorative logs, give a unique expression of Nordic nature.
